How to Prepare

1) Exfoliate your entire body the day of your tanning session. Shave the day before or the morning of your tanning session - the night before is preferred.

If you prefer waxing, the procedure should be done 24-36 hours prior to receiving your airbrush tan.

**You should also have your Mani-Pedi done prior to your tanning session.**

 2) On the day of your tanning session, it is important to refrain from using moisturizers, perfumes, lotions, oils or deodorants -- these create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution. You may resume using these after your first lukewarm shower.

What to Wear During

Wear whatever you are comfortable with! The cosmetic bronzers are water-soluble and usually wash out, but the DHA in the tanning formula may permanently stain what you wear during your session. Wearing your bathing suit, underwear/thongs is fine.

To minimize tan lines, going topless is often the norm. The attire for men is some type of underwear. We always use the utmost discretion during your tanning session.

What to Wear After

Please refrain from putting on undergarments, socks, or tight clothing right after your spray tan. Loose, dark clothes are best. Ideally loose long sleeve top and pants so that you'r skin is not touching or rubbing against each other while you continue to dry.

To be on the safe side, try not to wear white clothing or white undergarments until after your first lukewarm shower to reduce color transfer; however, if that’s all you have, the cosmetic bronzers in the tanning solutions and additives are water-soluble and should simply wash out.

Post-Tan Care

After your tanning session is complete, you will rinse between 2-3 hours (depending on how dark you want to go) after getting sprayed with the Express solution. It is recommended to wait at least 8-10 hours for the Regular solution before taking a lukewarm shower.

NOTE: It is highly recommended not to participate in any activities that may cause you to perspire excessively before your first shower.

In addition, avoid crying, getting stuck in the rain, washing your hands, spilling your wine on yourself, and tell your partner to do the dishes right after getting sprayed ;)

To maintain your airbrush tan, use non-abrasive soaps or gels, and do not exfoliate for at least 5-7 days. After each shower it is recommended to use a Mineral Free Moisturizer to prolong the life and depth of your tan.

NOTE: Over exposure to highly chlorinated water such as swimming pools or hot tubs for extended periods of time is not recommended and may decrease the length of time your Airbrush Tanning Results will last.

Is It Organic?

Technically, no spray tan solution is 100% organic because the DHA (the ingredient that gives you color) is not organic, so we will never claim it to be. Pacific Mist uses a sugar-based solution that is vegan and 80% organic.

Should I Spray My Face?

If you regularly use Glycolic Acid, Retinol Acid or Retin-A body or facial products, or employ a doctor’s regular services using these products, it is recommended that the face or that body part not be treated during the spray tan session.

Pregnancy Precautions

Spray tanning during pregnancy is a personal decision and choice. We do not recommend to get a spray tan in your first trimester, when major organs are still forming.
However, we do spray a handful of pregnant women after their first trimester as long as it’s approved by their Doctor/OB.
DHA is the active ingredient is spray tans— it’s a type of sugar, non-toxic, and works by interacting with the protein of the skin cells in the top, dead layer of your skin.
So, once approved by your Doc, if anything, we recommend you might use nose plugs during your tanning session to avoid unnecessary inhalation of the product.
